Having an internal, self-signed certificate added into Windows Trusted Root Certificate will allow Google Chrome to also accept it as trusted. But not Mozilla Firefox.

For Mozilla Firefox to trust Windows certificate store:

Open about:config and accept warning
Look for a setting called security.enterprise_roots.enabled . If not there, then add one
Make sure security.enterprise_roots.enabled is set to True
